One year after Nike and A-Cold-Wall* collaborated on an Air Force 1 Hi, the two companies have teamed once again for a capsule collection with some surprising sneakers.

The collection consists of a multi-functional long coat, all-over print jersey with quilted forearms, track pants with ruched adjustable features and water-resistant caps. Like Errolson Hugh’s work with NikeLab, this particular collaboration feels grounded in techwear; it’s a unique—but still organic—angle for the architechtural-meets-streetwear-meets-avant-garde label. Releasing alongside the collection is the A-Cold-Wall* x Nike Zoom Vomero +5, the original version of which released in 2010 as a running shoe. While many designers would love to take a shot at a trendier sneaker, A-Cold-Wall* founder and creative director Samuel Ross had this to say to Document Journal when asked about his obscure choice:

“My approach with the Vomero is about highlighting and humanizing intricacies of the shoe. The Vomero +5 is from an era of innovation living on the exterior of a trainer—the engine, spokes, hardware—all on constant display. This provides much opportunity to isolate multiple components of the ‘engine.’ You’ll find with the reworking of the Vomero a human take on the beginning and end point of the trainers: components will age and discolor. A focus on life cycle has been introduced through the removal of several PU and UV coatings frequently used to avoid discoloring and aging. I want the shoe to live, [and] that’s been achieved by removing the film between the product and the effects of our environment.”

The shoe will be available in two colorways, all black and sail white.

In related news, A-Cold-Wall* and Nike are also rumored to be releasing an Air Force 1 Low in two colorways, the first of which features black leather with dark grey suede and white accents. Just like the pair's previous collaborative Air Force 1, this model will feature two eyelets, giving the classic model a unique look. While no date has been confirmed for these, all signs point to a drop coming soon.

The A-Cold-Wall* x Nike capsule apparel collection as well as the collaboration Nike Zoom Vomero +5 will release November 29. Be sure to check Grailed shortly after the drop as the apparel and sneakers make their way to the Hype marketplace.
