Air Jordan III "Seoul" Drops in This Weekend

In what must be the most perfectly timed sneaker release in recent memory, the Air Jordan III “Seoul” will release Saturday March 10th.
The "Seoul" III is working overtime, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the city’s hosting of the Olympic summer games as well as Michael Jordan’s 1988 Slam Dunk contest victory. “Now is the perfect time, building on the momentum of the winter games and the love Korean consumers have for Jordan Brand,” said Dan Sunwoo. Sunwoo created this special-edition shoe along with its original designer Tinker Hatfield.
The shoe pays homage subtly by only changing the collar and tongue, with the colors of the South Korean flag on the collar and the flag itself on the right tongue. In addition to new pops of color, “서울” (Seoul) is noted on the left inner tongue and the 1988 summer games motto, “화합과 전진” (Harmony and Progress) features on the right inner tongue. In total, the references add to the layered significance of the sneaker. The shoe is finished with “Nike Air” branding on the heel, which Jordan III purists will be happy to see.
The Air Jordan III “Seoul” will be available on March 10th on nike.co.kr and at the Jordan Hongdae store. While the shoe is slated for a South Korea-only release, savvy sneakerheads know that you should be able to find a pair or two of this rare shoe right here on Grailed.
