Awake NY Delivers New Heat With Its Mid Summer Drop

As the summer heat rolls on, Awake NY is back with another collection to keep us looking cool.

Labeled as the brand’s “Mid Summer” release, this small selection doesn’t stray too far from Awake NY’s Summer 2018 collection. Founder Angelo Baque’s time as Supreme’s creative director continues to make itself known, as Awake continues to blend stock imagery, pop culture references and upfront branding to direct its lineup of easy-to-wear designs. Certain pieces like the Gil Scott-Heron tee, which features an image of Gil Scott-Heron bordered by some of his most famous lyrics, “Home is where the hatred is”, and the all-over logo print tee are very reminiscent of recent Supreme items. While there are no plans for a full-on Dover Street Market installation (as seen with the brand’s Summer 2018 release), this collection is sure to sell out just like its predecessor.
