While they’ve been on trend for years (thanks adidas), it appears tracksuits with stripes are not going away any time soon. The good people of Needles (whose track pants have become something of a cult favorite in this post-athliesure world) have teamed up with A$AP Rocky’s AWGE creative team to create a capsule of the ’80s staple.

The Japanese clothing label is driven by the vision of Keizo Shimizu—the brain behind Nepenthes—one of the coolest stores in New York City. Needles is essentially what Shimizu thinks garments should look like. Prior to the trackpants, the brand was perhaps best known for its 7-Cut Flannel shirts.

A$AP Mob’s love of Needles—and in particular, the track pants—has been well documented with Rocky sporting the pants in multiple colorways and Ferg shouting out Needles in “Bahamas”.

From what we can gather, the drop includes the Poly Smooth Track Jacket and Poly Smooth Narrow Track Pant (essentially, a full tracksuit) in green-and-purple, pink-and (what appears to be blue-green), black-and-yellow or baby blue-and-orange. The selection also includes a pair of multi-colored patchwork track pants. Aside from featuring the styles’ signature butterfly, these collaboration pieces will also be embroidered with “AWGE,” naturally.

Scope the lookbook (shot by friend-of-AWGE Dexter Navy) above to get a better look at the upcoming release. The AWGE x Needles collection will be available on March 16th at Domicile Tokyo, Nepenthes Tokyo and Nepenthes New York. Expect to find it on Grailed shortly thereafter.
