Balenciaga Previews New Fall/Winter 2018 Sneaker

There is no shortage of eyes on Balenciaga in 2018. After the brand’s Triple S sneaker became one of the most popular (and one of the most knocked off) models of 2017, the maison is back with an all new silhouette that’s sure to catch even more attention.
While there's plenty of garments to gawk at on the Balenciaga Fall/Winter 2018 runway, the standout is clearly going to be the brand's newest sneaker. On first glance the sneaker was clearly inspired by more modern running shoes than the Triple S, garnering comparisons to older Mizuno models and techy Salomon runners (the brand’s Spreedcross 4 collaboration with 11 by Boris Bidjan Saberi comes to mind). Instead of doubling down on the extremely chunky sole trend, Balenciaga opted to add “chunkiness” to the upper instead. With multiple layers of leather, neoprene and mesh, the new silhouette—like the Triple S—seems primed for a multitude of colorways and special releases in the future.
The official name, along with any other direct info about the style is still yet to be known. Expect this new sneaker to release along with the rest of Balenciaga’s Fall/Winter 2018 collection in July.
