After joining Calvin Klein as Chief Creative Officer in 2017, Raf Simons renamed the luxury ready-to-wear line formerly known as Calvin Klein Collection to Calvin Klein 205W39NYC. Just one year later, Simons & co have launched a new, more affordable diffusion line, called Calvin Klein Jeans Est. 1978.

Calvin Klein Jeans Est. 1978 comes at a perfect time in an attempt to include the ever growing Raf Simons fan club who may not be ready to pay the eye popping prices for the legendary designers eponymous pieces or mainline Calvin Klein products. With prices starting at $60 for tees, $150 for sweaters and $200 for jeans, Calvin Klein Jeans Est. 1978 is at the perfect pricepoint for fans of brands like A.P.C. and Acne Studios Visually, the line also serves as a solid middle ground for the Raf fan who wants more than the Calvin Klein logo tees available at most malls but may not be ready to go full cowboy.

Standout pieces include a tee featuring a picture of Brooke Shields from a 1980 Calvin Klein ad, as well as trucker jackets and jeans featuring the same image in an all over print. Western shirts and puffer jackets featuring similar imagery to what inspired recent Simons-helmed Calvin Klein shows and other “Americana-inspired” items set to release soon will surely catch eyes as well.

The first drop from Calvin Klein Jeans Est. 1978 is available now, with the Americana pieces coming later this summer. Stay tuned to Grailed for more news on Raf Simons’ Calvin Klein.
