Drake is not Pharrell Williams, nor is he Kanye West—he is not a style icon by any definition. While his outfits draw attention from time to time, he does not take risks like Pharrell and his influence is nowhere near the level of Kanye. What Drake has done over his decade-long career, however, is evolve stylistically. From rattling off designer brands while rocking incongruent fits, today’s Drake wears Stone Island without so much as a name drop. So while not a style icon, Drake is something of an avatar for the contemporary guy—a case study of how style has evolved in the last decade, but also how one’s personal style can evolve over time.
