The symbiotic relationship between music and fashion spans the confines of time. For example, when you reflect on the 1970s, sure the funky disco plays through your head. No doubt the signature stylings of celeb icons like Marvin Gaye and Mick Jagger (amongst several others) also come to mind. Fast forward to 2020, and while the music trending in pop culture might not be the same, the correlation between musical influences and style muses hasn’t changed. Attesting to this truth, internationally renowned DJ-producer Steve Aoki states, “Style, culture and legacy throughout the ages—for what I stand for—all goes back to my music. It all goes back to the timestamps of how my music has affected that cultural period.”

Despite their contrasting backgrounds, Aoki and fellow electronic music peers of the likes of Jamie Jones, ZHU, Tensnake, Tucker of SOFI TUKKER, and MK all have one thing in common: a signature aesthetic. Much like their records, these six electronic musicians possess a standout sense of style that shines unique. Here, Dry Clean Only takes an exclusive peek into some of the closets of these artists featuring commentary from the performers themselves.
