While Daiki Suzuki’s work with Engineered Garments is well respected (and well documented), you’d be hard pressed to find an item from the New York based brand more popular than its collaborative Vault By Vans Slip-On LX.
Vault by Vans is the boutique sub-label of the classic skate shoe label. With a focus on reproduction and collaboration, when Vault by Vans teams up with a label like Engineered Garments, the result is a sneaker that manages to strike the balance between contemporary hype and timeless appeal. As was the case with earlier Engineered Garments Slip-On Vans releases, these feature the collaboration’s signature alternating leather and suede uppers. Set atop Vans UltraCush technology, its the small details that place this version a step ahead of the run-of-the-mill Vans Slip-On. This latest drop sees a return of popular monochromatic colorways black, khaki and navy. If you’re looking for colorways in red or white however, you’ll have to make an IRL visit to Nepenthes here in New York.
The latest iteration of Engineered Garments and Vault by Vans’ Classic Slip-On LX is available now; be sure to check Grailed for more colorways from the collaboration’s past and present.
