In 2003, Vans debuted a new top-tier product line that was meant to reintroduce Vans’ range of Classics—Sk8-His, Authentics, Eras, Old Skools, and Slip-Ons—at a time when they had largely been forgotten. Over the last fifteen years, Vault by Vans has not only become an industry leader, it has become the company’s platform for experimentation and collaboration. From lead designer Taka Hayashi and his sometimes eccentric takes on Vans’ history to brands like WTAPS, Vault’s list of releases and partners is as varied as it is lengthy. With product runs that often vary between 500 and 1500 pairs, but can be as low as 100, every Vault release is truly limited. Below we chart some of our favorites.
