While Jerry Lorenzo broke the mold–or should we say the last—with the Air Fear of God 1 (and its Shoot Around iteration), he decided to dig into Nike’s vault and bring back a low top silhouette to round out his Fear of God collection with the sportswear giant.
Originally released in the early 1990s as a running model and part of the Nike International series, the Nike Air Skylon 2 was made for “underpronators”—runners whose ankles roll outward during activity. While the original Skylon 2’s stood out for the style’s gradiated mesh panels (in of-the-era flashy colorways), these Fear of God models keep things simple with solid colored panels. Other changes include a removal of the “Air Skylon” signature detail at the heel and the addition of a drawstring lace lock to ensure that this will be the cleanest, most pared-down Air Skylon 2 ever.
Expected to release in three colors: light bone/white/black being the first, with black/grey and grey/white following sometime after. The Fear of God x Nike Air Skylon 2 is reported to release on December 27th, with others suggesting a release window as late as early-2019 for some colorways. Be sure to keep your eyes on Dry Clean Only as we report any confirmed dates as soon as possible.
