"In Medias Res" is a column in which photographer Chris Fenimore links up with some of New York City's most interesting people to see what they're wearing throughout the week.
Name: Everard Best AKA Ev Bravado
Age: 23
Occupation: Designer/Artist? Well, I guess I just make clothes I like. The word "designer" gets thrown around a lot by kids just throwing images on T-shirts and phrases on dad hats. I'm just a freelance artist at this point, thats the best way to put it.
Neighborhood: Elmont, New York...Google it.
Favorite Shop in New York City: ODD NYC, after that I would say Opening Ceremony.
Favorite Restaurant in New York City: Sweet Chick! Hands down. Shoutouts to John Seymour, that's the big homie.
How did you get into fashion: Well, the journey starts in 7th grade: One day some random girl came at me and was like (make sure to read this in the most NYC accent you can), "Boy! You’re mad fresh, like killing it OD. Where'd you get that from?" I was about to tell her and then I realized she was mocking me because I wasn't fresh at all. From that day I swore I would never ever have a weak fit again. Then I got into sneakers, was heavy on Sole Collector, typical hypebeast 09-10, BBC, Bape, blah blah blah. Then in my senior year of high school I started Lease on Life Society. But really though, I've been around garments my whole life. My dad had a tailor shop in Long Island and I used to go there literally every day after elementary school. I was always around expensive garments and people with expensive clothes and taste, so I guess in a way I was born into it.
How would you describe your personal style: The Hood's Ralph Lauren
Current Favorite Piece(s) in closet: That new Ev Bravado down shearling dropping v. soon ;)...literally fuego ;)
How long have you been using Grailed: I think since it started. my friend Alex Kang was the first person to put me on. I've been hooked ever since.
Favorite Fashion Designers: Vell Beck is a mastermind, Trapvilla, Alex Digenova, Rye Decker and Sean Clay...these are all my friends, they're future. But other than that my all time faves: Ralph, Rick, Margiela, Helmut Lang, McQueen. Oh yeah, sidebar, Coach is killing it right now with the leathers! Their last womenswear show was top 5 IMO, v. slept on.
