"In Medias Res" is a column in which photographer Chris Fenimore links up with some of New York City's most interesting people to see what they're wearing throughout the week.

Name: James Ralston

Age: 25

Occupation: I work in men's merchandise for an American retailer.

Neighborhood: Greenpoint, BK

Favorite shop in New York City: Carson Street (RIP) and DSM I guess.

Favorite restaurant in New York City: Selamat Pagi in GP. Most excellent Indonesian cuisine.

How did you get into fashion: It was sort of a combo of things. Growing up in Portland, everybody's parents worked at Nike, so at school it was always a competition for who had the rarest late-nineties runners. And then later on through skateboarding, although I definitely spent more time looking for the tightest Krew jeans possible than trying to kickflip an 8 stair.

How would you describe your personal style: Inappropriate for most occasions.

Current favorite piece(s) in your closet: JW Anderson snail puffer, Ottolinger lighter-burn crewneck, CDG Homme Deux navy overcoat sample, various blank Gildan hoodies.

How long have you been using Grailed: Since 2015.

Most memorable Grailed come up: The white Craig Green police dog training jacket I swooped from the Grailed 100.

Favorite fashion designers: Right now I'm interested in Yang Li, Glenn Martens, Vejas Kruszewski and Giovanni Forbice. All time favs though are Rei, Issey, McQueen, Rick and Matt Breen.

Ultimate grail: IDK about ultimate grail, but lately I've been lusting after a pair of Rick sock Ramones.
