"In Medias Res" is a column in which photographer Chris Fenimore links up with some of New York City's most interesting people to see what they're wearing throughout the week.
Name: Skylar Bergl
Age: 27
Occupation: Senior Editor at Edelman PR, Occasional freelance writer
Neighborhood: Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Favorite shop in New York City: CHCM, I don't get there often enough anymore.
Favorite restaurant in New York City: The Supper Club at St. Mazie
How did you get into fashion: I've cared about how I dressed since I was in high school, but didn't get into fashion with a capital "F" until I was in college when I was about 20-years-old. And like many mid-20s, semi-influential menswear bloggers, it was through Tumblr when the #menswear community reblogged hundreds of our favorite Pitti Uomo street style photos. From there, I spent more and more time scrolling through runway photos during fashion week and eventually blogged many blogs at Four Pins (R.I.P.). While my interest definitely peaked there, I still love to buy tons of shit and occasionally find a rare piece for a good deal. My closet looks much different now, just like everybody else's who once racked up piles of double breasted blazers.
How would you describe your personal style: Fashion forward for the business casual set.
Current favorite piece(s) in your closet: Outerwear and sneakers are pretty much it for me: Stone Island puffer jacket, Tillman Lauterbach overcoat, Robert Geller F/W 15 bomber, Blends x Vans Sk8-His, Adidas 350 SPZL, various Chuck Taylors.
How long have you been using Grailed: Since pretty close to the beginning. I distinctly remember selling a Gitman Bros. flannel shirt in 2013.
Most memorable Grailed come up: I've had a few. Raf Simons F/W 2009 sneakers with the neoprene spats, Junya Watanabe F/W 14 patchwork boots, 1998 Helmut Lang denim jacket, F/W 11 cashmere Rick Owens pod shorts.
Favorite fashion designers: Dries Van Noten, Rick Owens, Luke Meier of OAMC, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
Ultimate grail: One of the embroidered coats from Dries Van Noten F/W 15, F/W 09 Undercover Ethnic Rider.
