Matthew Williams and Nike Reveal Second Capsule Collection

After a very successful first collaboration, Nike and Alyx mastermind (and Grailed favorite) Matthew Williams have teamed up for more technologically advanced active gear.
Williams’ first Nike collection utilized heat and sweat maps to inform the design of the T-shirt (arguably the centerpiece of the collection). The secon focuses on multifunctional pieces and patterns.
"For this collection, we used computational algorithms to create the camouflage pattern.” Williams tells Nike. The camouflage, while always a relevant pattern, was made for what Williams describes as, “really hardcore outdoor training.” While much of the first collection looks like it was made for cardio workouts, Williams designed this second capsule with heavy-duty fitness—think flipping tires and outdoor obstacle courses—in mind.
While it’s unclear how the pattern will help you during your workout, other new pieces were designed with a more direct problem solving approach. “When you're running, you get wet mainly the top of your shoulders, so we ensured rain coverage in that spot," Williams explains. A full collection preview has yet to be seen but Sherpa fleece, two-in-one pants, utility vests, detachable hoods as well as socks and underwear will be in the mix.
The Matthew Williams x Nike collection will be available globally beginning February 7. Be sure to check the Grails marketplace shortly after the drop.
