"Most Expensive" is a recurring franchise documenting the top 10 most expensive listings sold on Grailed over the past month.
Saint Laurent makes its grand return to our list with two pieces featured this week. Taking the top spot is an L17 from Fall/Winter 2013, Hedi Slimane's debut menswear collection at the then-newly renamed "Saint Laurent Paris." The L17 silhouette stands out as one of the most sought-after among Saint Laurent collectors, and one from Slimane's first season is a definite grail.
However, the Fall/Winter 2017 iteration of the jacket featuring the iconic "Blood Luster" motif done up in beads and crystals across the back is nothing to sneeze at. The jacket was a part of Anthony Vaccarello's first collection for the brand following Hedi Slimane's departure, with the Luke Thomas-designed graphic a callback to Slimane's Spring/Summer 2014 show, where it was originally introduced.
Another brand with a few appearances this week is Readymade. The Japanese label—which began as an experiment in 2013—is known for reworking military surplus and second-hand items into familiar yet reimagined garments and accessories that remain entirely hand-made. The pieces cracking our top 10 are both takes on the classic The North Face Nuptse jacket, with the first repurposing vintage bandanas and the other utilizing reclaimed U.S. Army tents.
