Since Virgil Abloh’s appointment as Menswear Artistic Director at Louis Vuitton, streetwear has gone from influencing the luxury world to becoming one with it. One example of this influence is collaborations, the most apt of which is finally here in the form of “LV²”.
The “LV²” collection is the partnership of Virgil Abloh and legendary streetwear designer NIGO, who came up with the name as a nod to the dual design approach for the collection. Since it was teased back in December, fans of both designers have been anticipating what these two could create with a house as big as Louis Vuitton behind them. The answer comes in the form of patchwork denim chore coats, jeans and bucket hats, square patterned suits and boldly branded outerwear. Staying true to Vuitton’s bread and butter, the collection also includes leather backpacks, duffles, shoulder bags and totes. One of the standout pieces is a hooded leather bomber jacket with a graphic on the back which reads “LV MADE”, a nod to NIGO’s Human Made label.
LV² is expected to release this summer as part of Louis Vuitton’s Pre-Fall 2020 offering. Be sure to check Grailed following the release for your chance to cop.
