The End of "The Ten"?: Off-White and Nike Gear Up for New Air Max 90 Release

After multiple successful releases in 2018, Nike and Off-White have teamed up for a couple more colorways of the Air Max 90. But even with all of 2018’s blockbuster releases, new developments signal that this could this be the last release of the iconic partnership.
At the end of 2018, Virgil Abloh posted a photo on his Instagram story of the black/white Off White x Air Force 1 Low with the caption “Small fact: personally I’m obsessed with the visual of black sneaker/white swoosh white laces. Hence every edition of the last ever ‘10’ came as such.” It remains unclear whether Abloh meant that this is Off-White’s final collaboration with Nike—his last time releasing one of these “The Ten” models—or if he was just signalling the end of Off-White Nikes with that specific “black sneaker/white swoosh” colorways. We look to the big quotation marks in the sky asking for answers, but instead, we receive just two Air Max 90s. Fair enough.
Releasing in black/white and desert ore/hyper jade-bright mango colorways, the two feature all of the bells and whistles fans have come to expect from an Off-White x Nike release: zip ties, inside-out branding and all.
While no official announcement has come from Nike, Off-White or Virgil Abloh regarding the release yet, a few retailers have confirmed that these two Nike x Off-White Air Max 90s will release January 17. Be sure to check Grailed shortly after the drop as pairs make their way to the Hype marketplace.
