In 2015, New York-based Public School released this classic collaboration with Jordan Brand–a monochrome grey suede take on the Jordan XII silhouette. Accompanied by a matching suede hangtag and released alongside a limited apparel collection, the release was an enormous success. So much so, Public School dropped three more monochrome XIIs over the next two years. The “Wheat,” “Olive” and “Purple” colorways that would follow–homages to NYC, Milan and Paris, respectively–all garnered similar acclaim. Grey is a popular secondary color on Jordans once you get past all the Bulls-inspired colorways (Cool Grey IXs and XIs, I’m looking at you), but it might have been at its best in this monochrome suede iteration.

Anyone can just slap a dope colorway onto a perfect silhouette like the Jordan I, but what really sets apart the great collabs from the forgotten releases is when the designer really pays close attention to the details, like Aleali May did with her 2017 “Satin Shadow” Jordan I. Drawing on vintage influences and personal nostalgia of Los Angeles, her Jordan I is draped in a black corduroy upper and is accented by silver satin. It’s topped off with a chenille Swoosh which refines the cozy vintage look. One of the undisputed best sneaker releases of 2017, this silver and black treasure is an awesome collab and a rare find.

Excuse the analogy: If the Watch the Throne album cover was a shoe, it would be this Supreme Foamposite One from 2014. It always made sense that Supreme eventually would want to recreate the Foamposite One and it’s downright poetic that one of Nike’s most ostentatious shoes received an equally audacious reimaging. Originally releasing in both black and red colorways alongside matching basketball jerseys and shorts, this black listing is wrapped in an ornate baroque pattern, complete with a signature carbon fiber plate and translucent sole. While the sneaker is over-the-top all on its own, its legacy is forever linked to the literal shutdown of the Supreme store on New York City’s Lafayette Street, forcing the brand to drop the shoe as an online-only offering (and ultimately serve as a symbolic turning point in Supreme’s now-well-documented unparalleled popularity).

Did you ever think you would want to buy sneakers that were already dirty and scuffed? Well, hoards of sneakerheads did just that when Nigel Sylvester released his musty Jordan I back in 2018. A professional bike rider from Queens, his Jordan I has a cream leather upper that looks authentically worn-in, thanks in part to the natural scuff marks he strategically placed throughout the shoe. As someone who rides in his Jordan Is, the design is meant to represent what his sneakers would look like after many rides perfecting his craft and practicing tricks. He even added a mini Swoosh by the toe box, something no one has done to a Jordan I yet. This is one of the most sought after Jordan collabs from the last few years and is tough to find on Grailed.

Once upon a time we featured the high-top version of London-based A-Cold-Wall’s remixed Air Force 1, but this week we’re featuring the much more competitively priced low-top version. A very modern take on the Air Force 1, the upper is a premium combo of half grey suede and half white Flyleather, a Nike creation that consists of 50 percent recycled natural leather fiber. With minor “ACW” branding by the toe box and on the tongue, a wild lacing format and black Nike Air branding on the heel, this is a really clean colorway of a classic shoe.

Sneakerheads had been clamoring for a retro release of the classic “Taiwan” Air Force 1 for nearly two decades when finally in 2018, they got their wish. The red and blue gradient Swoosh on this listing stands out against an all-white patent leather upper with red tongue tags and AIR branding along the side, topped off with a translucent blue sole. The red and blue accents are an homage to the Taiwanese flag. One of the best Air Force 1 releases of all time, this “Taiwan” retro is a rare find and a must grab for any Air Force 1 fans out there.

Gold isn’t typically a popular color for Jordan Brand, unless it’s being used to add some regal gravitas to one of their classic models, as seen previously with its “Defining Moments” pack. This mismatched black, white and gold Jordan I, dubbed the “Gold Top 3” is a departure from the standard Jordan I drops we’ve seen over the years. Originally released exclusively at ComplexCon, it would eventually receive a more traditional, yet still limited, release on Cyber Monday 2017. The mismatched color blocking doesn’t distract from the beautiful product, as the ornate colorway is covered in a bold patent leather. The original “Top 3” release, which came out the year prior, featured a mismatched black, red and blue colorway, but this gold version just has that little extra panache. Grab a rare pair of underrated Jordans now while you can.

This Dunk is named after the artist Pushead, who has crafted album covers for Metallica in the past. They feature a paint splatter effect which more closely resembles varying shades of dried blood than your traditional Jackson Pollock painting. The artwork is contrasted by black leather overlays and a skeleton logo along the heel, with a bright red sole as the final piece to the puzzle. Released during the SB heyday of the mid-2000s, this is an underrated selection for SB heads and Pushead fans alike. This sneaker is different than the darker, second Pushead SB Dunk, which released in 2012.

Before releasing silky smooth Air Force 1s, Chinese label Clot collaborated with Nike on the Air Max 1, releasing this “Kiss of Death” colorway in 2006. Pulling materials and inspiration from everywhere, including Chinese medicine, this Air Max 1 features everything from beige suede to red snakeskin and ostrich accents. Inside the sole is a pressure point map, and both the toe box and side panel are see-through. Yet another rare find from the folks at Clot.

There’s just something about the gradient pattern on the Air Max 95 that lends itself to a lawless design like this. The collab between Japanese brand Atmos and Nike’s Air Max 95 silhouette features animal prints from nearly every beast in the kingdom, in a variety of colors and textures. The brands originally collaborated on animal-inspired Air Maxes many years earlier, and this re-worked Air Max 95 takes that original design ethos and launches it into the stratosphere. Atmos Nike collabs are always a popular pickup and there aren’t many available on Grailed, so grab this updated version with a slew of animal prints and you won’t be disappointed.
