Back in 2009, Jordan Brand was in the midst of “Pack” overload. The brand released every signature Jordan from I-XXII in 2008 to mixed reviews, while some silhouettes were able to snag their own separate pack. One such example of a silhouette specific pack includes this set of “Raging Bull” Vs featured in this listing. While these are still presented in standard Bulls color palettes, they are very different from the normal Bulls-centric colorways we’re accustomed to seeing. The red suede pair has gotten the most attention over the past decade, while its black nubuck counterpart with a reflective finish is the most underrated of the two, both feature signature Jordan V traits like the “23” side stitching, exaggerated tongue and Jumpman branding on a clear sole. The red pair is said to be inspired by the red bandanas worn at the world famous Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain.

Sometimes lost in the laundry list of accolades Michael Jordan accumulated during his illustrious playing career is his 1985 Rookie of the Year trophy. A standout from a legendary draft class, Jordan quickly took the basketball world by storm in his inaugural season, and this pair of Jordan Is was created to commemorate that amazing year. Clad in a golden harvest and white leather upper (a subtle nod to the outfit he wore while accepting the award), accented by a black Swoosh and sockliner, this sneaker boasts some cool little Jordan-centric design elements. The Men’s Basketball team from the 2000 Summer Olympics is perhaps best known for Vince Carter’s incredible dunk over seven-footer Frederic Weis, arguably the greatest in-game dunk of all time–an absolutely breathtaking feat. The “Olympic” Jordan VIs featured in this listing were present during those Olympics, most notably on the feet of then-Jordan athletes Ray Allen and Vin Baker. Jordan Brand’s most famous Olympic-inspired colorway is the seen on the Jordan VII—the model Jordan himself wore in Barcelona in 1992, but this “Olympic” VI is arguably a better overall sneaker. Decked in navy and white with a red Jumpman, this sneaker represented so well in 2000 that Jordan Brand brought this colorway back in 2012 for the Summer Games in London.

Looks can be deceiving. The “Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing” SB Dunk High featured here, which was released in collaboration with Black Sheep in 2017, is a perfect encapsulation of that axiom. Presented in a fairly tonal white palette consisting of a weathered, vintage-looking upper with black and red accents, this Dunk has subtle, hidden design marks that put it over the top. For example, the white Swoosh can actually be scratched off, revealing wolf fangs. There’s also artwork of a wolf with red eyes peering into your soul from inside the shoe. Multiple laces, including a blood-splattered set, are included.

Originally releasing in 2017, Undefeated and Nike dropped two colorways of their Air Max 97 collaboration, in both a black and sail colorway. The black pair featured here, pays homage to Italy and its relationship with the classic Air Max. The black, red and green colorway is Gucci-inspired and features a patent leather mudguard. Undefeated branding can be found all along the 97’s famous waves along the upper. This epic collaboration was in celebration of both the Air Max 97’s 20th anniversary and Undefeated’s 15th anniversary in Los Angeles.

Kith founder and streetwear impresario Ronnie Fieg has churned out quite a few classic Asics Gel Lyte IIIs over the past decade and this homage to Miami is certainly one of them. Releasing as part of his East Coast Project with Asics, Fieg designed one pair of shoes highlighting New York and this pair highlighting Miami. Right out of a Miami Dolphins pro shop, this pair features classic bright green and orange colors, offset by a white midsole. We know Fieg’s heart is always in Queens, but he channeled Miami’s soul with this one.

Supreme has tackled the iconic Air Force 1 multiple times during its now-18-year collaborative relationship with Nike, producing everything from NBA logo-covered mids, to “World Famous” highs, to these surprisingly subtle canvas lows. Kanye West’s departure from Nike to adidas has been well documented, but hardly overstated. Shifting from the Swoosh to the Three Stripes was more than just an atomic bomb in the ongoing “sneaker wars” between the two sportswear giants; it was ultimately the beginning of West’s ultimate ambition: start his own honest-to-goodness clothing line. This Yeezy Boost 750 “Light Brown” (more commonly known today as “OG” or “Gray”; since the 2016 releases of the similarly named and/or colored Yeezy 750 “Chocolate” and “Light Gray”, that nickname is a little confusing) was the sneaker that truly started off the now-long-running Yeezy sneaker empire and clothing brand. Released on a then-newly-unveiled adidas sneaker drop app, this Yeezy 750 was made available during a flurry of activity in NYC; the city was host to NBA All-Star Weekend as well as Yeezy’s debut fashion presentation. While Yeezy sneakers have successfully been released for years—almost to the point of overexposure—starting the line with the Yeezy 750 was a gamble. Initially receiving mixed reviews thanks to its high zippered closure, forefoot strap and minimal branding, the shoe has since gone on to become a cult classic thanks to its important place in both Yeezy brand and sneaker industry history.
