Two legends from the aughts––Allen Iverson and BAPE––linked up in 2016 for this camo-clad Reebok Question. The tan-based camo print is woven throughout the upper and heel, while white accents break it up through the midsoles, laces and sockliner. One really cool detail: if you look closely at the lace eyelets, you’ll find BAPE spelled out in the classic Reebok font. Aside from that, the only noticeable BAPE branding is the shooting star logo on the heel. However, as we all know, that signature BAPE camo throughout the upper is the only “branding” it needs.

Concepts, the Boston-based sneaker retailer, has collaborated with everyone from Nike to New Balance over the years, crafting some of the sneaker game’s most beloved shoes. Whether it be the “Lobster” Dunks or “The Kennedy” 999, Concepts has been bringing the New England-inspired heat for over a decade. When the brand opened its New York City store in 2014, another strong collaboration with New Balance gifted us this “Rose” colorway of the classic 997 silhouette. The “Rose” upper is draped in a lush suede, while grey crocodile texture engulfs the tongue and collar. New Balance’s ENCAP technology holds it down with support in the white midsole and there is minimal Concepts branding on the insole. Another inspired collaboration from one of the industry’s best.

Streetwear impresario Ronnie Fieg is best known for his colorful tinkering of classic sneakers. Through collaborations with everyone from BAPE to LeBron James, Fieg’s signature touch has elevated an infinite amount of kicks over the years. He did just that in 2015, when he, along with Diamond Supply Co., collaborated on this “Tiffany” inspired Gel Lyte 5. Within the sneaker community, the “Tiffany” name will forever be synonymous with Diamond Supply Co.’s groundbreaking SB Dunk from 2005. But that “Tiffany Blue” colorway lends itself to a lot of great sneakers, including this Gel Lyte 5 from Asics. Decked in a perforated pigskin upper, with co-branded lace tips and insoles, this Gel Lyte 5 from the Fieg/Diamond brain trust shines. This was a limited release and was only available at legendary streetwear haunts like Kith, Diamond Supply Co. and Colette—to name a few.

The Jordan I Mid wasn’t always a forgotten shoe. Coming up in the shadows of the OG High, the Mid silhouette saw a push in the early 2000s, long before Jordan Brand debuted its popular “Fearless Ones” collection of Jordan I Mids in the Fall of 2019, which really seemed to revitalize the silhouette. This shimmering silver colorway is one of the best from that era, thanks in large part to its elegant design and the texture upgrades. The tonal silver shines throughout, as metallic silver overlays cover a “Neutral Grey” leather upper. The traditional “Wings” logo is jeweled and its laces are ovaled, as opposed to the normal flat laces. A tumbled leather tongue upgrades the traditional nylon one as well. 50,000 of these were produced, as is indicated on the inside tongue, and despite its wear and tear, remains a unique find from an underrated era of Jordan I Mids.

The only time Michael Jordan broke out the “Bordeaux” Jordan VII––an OG VII colorway––was during the 1992 NBA All-Star Game (that’s not including the Michael Jackson “Jam” video, of course). Despite its absence from the court, that didn’t stop sneakerheads from clamoring for a retro release throughout the aughts. Finally, in 2011, Jordan Brand released the first retro version of the “Bordeaux” VII, which is featured in this listing. The colorway is unique in that it doesn’t pop up on any other Jordan silhouettes. The combination of Light Graphite suede with Bordeaux wine-colored accents, along with tiny pops of yellow and teal, is wholly unique to this shoe. Jordan Brand went back to the well again in 2015 with another “Bordeaux” retro, but it didn’t move the needle as much as it did in 2011. This remains one of the most popular and sought after Jordans in a non-Bulls colorway.

Whoever said tweed should only be relegated to old college professors’ blazers must have never consulted Nike SB. The brand-within-a-brand (who is never afraid to think outside the box) went rogue again for this “Wood Deck” Dunk from 2007. While the sneaker’s upper is dominated by muted earth tones, it stands out thanks to its tweed materials, and a bright green Swoosh provides some necessary color. The wood-like material featured here was previously used on the “Michael Lau” Dunk Low, one of the rarest SBs on the market. While the “Wood Deck” may lack the name recognition of some of its sister SBs, it remains a tough find nonetheless.

When Nike SB dropped the “What The” Dunk Low in 2007, it was a culmination of all the incredible work the brand had produced throughout the decade. Contained within the fabric of that shoe were subtle (and not so subtle) nods to some of the best Nike SBs ever produced, from “Supreme,” to “Buck,” to “Lucky” and dozens more. 10 years later, Nike SB attempted to bring back the “What The” design ethos for a Dunk High, however, it wouldn’t be merely a combination of all the work the brand had done. For the 2017 Dunk High, Nike SB collaborated with Thomas Campbell, the artist who served as the art director for the Nike SB Chronicles Vol. 3 skate film, to design the sneaker. Decked in a quilt-like upper, the sneaker is inspired by that film’s poster.

As we’ve learned throughout our journey in the world of sneakers, you can rarely go wrong with elephant print. Whether it’s the OG Jordan III or a [“Supreme” Dunk](https://www.grailed.com/drycleanonly/supreme-nike-collab-history, the elephant print just adds...something. That was definitely the thought process behind this nostalgic SB Dunk from 2010, aptly nicknamed “Yellow Curb.” Dressed in a relatively subdued black upper with elephant print along the overlays, the “Yellow Curb” receives a welcome pop of color from the bright yellow accents of the sockliner, tongue and side heel logo. The yellow was chosen strategically by Nike SB to represent the yellow curbs that routinely get ruined by its skaters day in and day out.

While the Yeezy line has become saturated with innumerable colorways of 350 models, 2020 might be a good time to take a look back at some of the original high-top 750s, like the “Chocolate” colorway featured in this listing. Debuting during the Yeezy Season 2 show at New York Fashion Week, these 750s are comprised entirely of a light brown nubuck upper. The strap along the middle of the foot along with the YKK ankle zipper holds it all together, while the gum Boost midsole glows in the dark. The Yeezy line has remained dominant in the resale market since its debut in 2015 both in terms of units and dollars, but it’s the older model 350 and 750s, like this “Chocolate” version, that still turn the most heads.

When looking back at Kobe Bryant’s storied career through his sneakers, there were some noticeable blips: Most notably, it’s his Kobe 1 and 2 adidas kicks, which are lovingly referred to as “moon shoes” or “space shoes” or any number of disparaging nicknames you can think of for the bulky silhouette. When adidas began retroing the Kobe 1, Bryant was well into his fruitful partnership with Nike and the sneaker was renamed “Crazy.” Aside from his USA-inspired Kobe 2 he donned during the 2001-02 season, and the original yellow Lakers colorway, you just didn’t see many bright colors on the space shoe. But in 2014, adidas infused some extra crazy colors into the Crazy 1 for this “Vivid Mint” colorway. Bold mint green covers the synthetic upper while dashes of bright orange sprinkle heat throughout the shoe. It’s totally different from anything Kobe ever wore with adidas. It would’ve been pretty cool to see him wear these at an All-Star Game during his time with the Three Stripes.
