Prior to 2020, there had never been a retro release of the Nike Air Ship. The infamous sneaker once worn by Michael Jordan before the Jordan I was released, finally saw the light of day–albeit a limited one–through the release of the “New Beginnings” Pack, which featured an Air Ship and Jordan I, in customary red and white colorways. This listing here is for an ultra rare original orange pair, which you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. A relic straight from 1984, this pair features a pamphlet breaking down the sneaker’s features, including its Center of Pressure Flexsole and Air-Wedge Cushioning Pillars. A true grail from 36 years ago, this is a really cool, ultra rare, piece of sneaker history and a precursor to arguably the most legendary sneaker ever. It should be in a museum.

During the great Jordan I renaissance of the last five or so years, Jordan Brand has done a great job of creating totally new, unique, colorways to give its oldest silhouette new life, like the “Shattered Backboard,” “Obsidian,” and “Clay Green” colorways, to name a few. You could put the understated “Sail” colorway in that conversation as well. Released in 2017, the “Sail” Jordan I features a creamy off-white leather upper with a tonal Swoosh, with the most minimal red branding on the tongue tag. A great summer shoe, this was released alongside a “Triple Black” pair, which was dubbed the “Premium Essentials” pack.

Team USA goalkeeper Tim Howard debuted his never-before-seen colorway of a Jordan VI back in 2014 on his social media. It featured a red heel tab as well as a speckled midsole, icy outsole and a 3M upper. Super limited in nature–reportedly only 30 pairs of these kicks were produced–you had to really know someone close to the United States National Team to get your hands on a pair. The Jordan VI is best known for being the pair Jordan wore during his first Championship run in 1991, and these just so happened to drop on the 23rd Anniversary of that momentous occasion. That is why these sneakers are also nicknamed the “First Championship”. Unfortunately, Team USA did not fare as well in the World Cup, as they were eliminated in the round of 16.

This red, white and black Dunk was released back in 2011 and was crafted by Germany’s Made for Skate. The shoe is designed to be an homage to the old roller derby days of the 1950s, and features cracked leather overlays on a red suede upper. The words “Skate” and “Board” are embroidered on the heels, and a graphic of a roller derby girl is printed on the insole. Last but not least, the number 10 is stitched on the front of the shoe, by the toe box.

Back in 2002, when Nike SB was still in its infancy, a low-top Dunk named in honor of skateboarder Richard Mulder effectively introduced Nike SB to the world. The simple white and blue design was a nod to one of Mulder’s favorite Nike tennis shoes growing up. Fast forward 15 years and we have this high-top Dunk paying homage to that OG from 2002. Decked in a white upper with a bright Orion Blue Swoosh, Mulder keeps it simple again, to similarly successful results.

One of the most important Nike SBs of all time, this Dunk from 2003 was designed in collaboration with graffiti artist Futura, who has lent his talent to Nike SB on a number of occasions in the last 20 years. The Nightshade (a popular Nike SB color at the time) tumbled leather upper blends seamlessly with the grey suede overlays and black mesh paneling. A crispy white Swoosh pops against the dark upper. A certified classic, these are an important pillar of SB history. If that wasn’t enough, Futura appears to have autographed the box.

Much like its “C-Note” New Balance collaboration from the same year, Concepts isn’t afraid to make it “All About the Benjamins.” This Mint take on the New Balance 998 model is a tribute to the U.S. Mint and the almighty dollar. The money green suede engulfs the upper, while pops of orange can be found on the tongue and midsole. This sneaker also features a fleece liner and a custom Concepts design on the insole.

Before reigning over his Kith kingdom, Ronnie Fieg made a name for himself at David Z. in New York. It was there where he eventually began his epic sneaker collaborations, which included this “Super Red” take on the Gel-Lyte III back in 2010. Decked in a predominantly grey colorway, with splashes of bright red along the sides and outsole, this was a huge hit that helped build a lot of momentum for Fieg. Only 252 of these were produced and remain sought-after a decade later.

Speaking of Fieg, this would be his last Asics release while still working at David Z. Released in 2011, this “Mint Leaf” colorway was supposedly inspired by the mint leaves he would put in his grandparents’ tea some mornings. A really beautiful green suede colorway dominates the upper, all the way down to the white midsole. Fieg would go on to do some amazing things after branching out on his own, but this “Mint Leaf” Gel-Lyte III remains one of his best.

Leave it to Supreme to take Nike’s most ostentatious sneaker and make it even crazier. For one of its collaborations with Nike in 2014, Supreme took the Foamposite One and its molded upper, and slapped a gaudy, golden, baroque design on it, leaving no doubt as to who was behind it. The Foams were accompanied by a matching basketball jersey and shorts, making it one of the most fun and popular Supreme and Nike collaborations of the decade. Released in both a black and a red colorway, which can be found in this listing, these were really the perfect shoe to celebrate Supreme’s 20th Anniversary that year.
