In 2008, Nike SB channeled the cover art of ’80s rock gods Guns N’ Roses’ debut album Appetite For Destruction for a pair of Dunks. The seminal album sold tens of millions of copies around the world and put Guns N’ Roses on the map, and the album’s hits still permeate pop culture to this day. Its ubiquitous cover art is reimagined here with a dark grey leather upper, black suede overlays and a red-yellow patent leather gradient panel. Red accents can be found on the heel, outsole and tongue tag, while a purple Swoosh puts it over the edge.

The rare Air Force 1 “Escape” colorway originally released way back in 2005. Bearing somewhat of a resemblance to the “Trail” SB Dunk, this Air Force 1 features two different shades of brown suede along the overlays, with black accents on the Swoosh, laces and outsole, a perforated white leather side paneling for added breathability, and an “ESCAPE” graphic printed on the tongue tag. Nike would also release an “Escape” Air Force 2, in both a high and low-top variation.

Originally released in 2004 as a part of a soccer-inspired pack of Dunks (alongside an orange Netherlands pair), this red, yellow and green pair pays homage to the futbol haven of Portugal. The dark red leather upper is offset by green overlays and the yellow Swoosh puts it through the net. A number 12 insignia can also be found on the tongue tag. It’s not the last time Portugal would provide the inspiration for a Nike silhouette, as the flag’s colors would coat an Air Force 1 and Air Max 97 over time, however, this low-top Dunk remains the rarest.

As if the Nike Air Vapormax silhouette couldn’t be more distinctive, leave it to CLOT to truly bring it alive with this tonal “Bright Crimson” collaboration from 2017. The Flyknit upper is completely covered in a beaming bright crimson, with a matching full-length Vapormax Air unit and minimal CLOT branding on the heel and tongue. Originally scheduled to be a European exclusive, scant pairs found their way up for sale at a pop-up in Los Angeles later that year.

Back in the day, Lance Armstrong had everyone representing the Livestrong foundation, from yellow wrist bands to T-shirts. Nike collaborated with the nonprofit organization many times over the years, including on this Air Force 1 designed by the legendary graffiti artist Mr. Cartoon. These limited edition kicks feature Cartoon’s signature designs in Livestrong’s famous black and yellow colorway. There’s a “LA” graphic embroidered by the heel and a gradient pattern on the Swoosh. Armstrong may be a controversial figure today, but it’s impossible to ignore his impact on pop culture during his time at the peak of his career.

In another effort to capitalize on the public’s insatiable thirst for Chicago Bulls-inspired Jordan I colorways, Jordan Brand released this “Bred Toe” version back in 2018. Pulling design cues from both the iconic “Bred” and “Black Toe” colorways, Jordan Brand combined them for the “Bred Toe,” in what really amounts to just a subtle color-blocking change. Jordan never wore this colorway, of course, but it didn’t matter. The release was a huge success and the company continues to find new ways to bring the Bulls colors to life within the confines of the Jordan I.

Arguably the most popular retro colorway of the Jordan XII, these originally released way back in 2004, when Jordan was saying his final goodbye to the game of basketball as a member of the Washington Wizards. Jordan unequivocally wore some heat during his time in Washington, but it was actually guys like Richard Hamilton and Kobe Bryant who gave the “French Blues” some notoriety that year. The sneakers would go on to retro in 2016, the version which can be found in this listing. The white tumbled leather “Rising Sun” upper is perfectly contrasted by the lush French Blue pebbled midsole, with minimal hints of red on the “23” at the heel and on the sole.

When you think of Air Jordans and Michael Jordan’s alma mater, Laney High School, you probably think of the “Laney” Vs. They are without a doubt the most popular Laney-inspired Jordan ever released. Most probably don’t even remember that back in 2013, Jordan Brand released a Jordan I in the school’s blue and yellow colorway. Changing up the traditional materials a bit, the blue upper is composed of suede, while the yellow leather overlays complete the look. Despite being cut from his high school team as a sophomore, an event which changed the trajectory of Jordan’s competitive gears forever, he has always found ways to instill the Laney colors into his kicks.

The crocus is a purple flower that is one of the first to bloom in the spring months in Sweden. Its beautiful colors are on display here on this Reebok Question. At first glance, one might assume that this is a “Lakers” colorway, however the purple and yellow crocus flowers are the real inspiration behind this take. The purple and yellow suede panels sit atop a white midsole, with SNS branding on the tongue. These were only released at limited Reebok retailers.

Inspired by the Scottish winters, Hanon and Asics got together to craft this blue Gel Lyte III, dubbed the “Solstice.” The Scotland-based retailer went with a “Mid Blue” suede upper with perforations throughout, which is complemented by the darker blue along the mudguard. In an homage to Celtic solstice traditions, Hanon included a Celtic knot and flame pattern along the collar, as well as a flame logo on the tongue and by the heel.
