Sneaker Stories: Week of July 26, 2020

Last week was a rare trifecta in that three exciting, highly-anticipated sneaker releases dropped. One was collaboration with a classic rock band and two came from some of our favorite designers–all of which will surely be gracing this column at some point in the future.
First, Nike dropped its three-shoe collaboration with The Grateful Dead. Three furry neon colorways (orange, green and yellow) with Grateful Dead Bear insignias hit SNKRS and assorted skate shops throughout last week, with each colorway releasing in its own unique way.
Jordan Brand once again linked with Virgil Abloh, this time on a stripped-down “Sail” colorway of the Jordan IV. The shoe is listed in women’s sizing and some lucky women got the chance to cop early thanks to a SNKRS shock drop prior to its official July 25 release date.
Finally, New Balance and JJJJound linked up once again, this time for two colorways of the popular 992 silhouette. The Grey colorway dropped on July 24, with the Green colorway releasing soon on July 31.
These are three completely different collaborations, but all come with their own level of hype and consumer excitement. Hopefully you lucked out on the pair(s) you were eyeing up.
No online retailer has the same breadth and depth of selection as Grailed. From patent leather Jordans (not those) to Pacman Dunks (and everything in between)–in no particular order, these are our picks for Grailed Sneaker Stories of the Week.
