We all know the Jordan III catapulted the Jordan line into the stratosphere. From the aesthetics and technology (Jumpman logo, Air unit, elephant print) to the free-throw line takeoff in the ‘88 Dunk Contest, the Jordan III is a big part of Michael Jordan’s iconic lore. The “Black Cement” pair is on many sneakerheads’ Mount Rushmore and for good reason. Known for being the shoe Jordan wore in the 1988 All-Star Game in Chicago (in which he won All-Star Game MVP), the “Black Cement” III received an OG-approved retro version back in 2018, which is the version found in this listing. This marked the first time “Nike Air” branding could be found on the heel since 2001. OG detailing with the patented elephant print made this a can’t-miss retro.

In celebration of the University of North Carolina’s 2017 NCAA Championship, Jordan Brand released this Carolina blue and black take on the Jordan VI. The VI is known for championships. After all, it is the sneaker Jordan wore during his first NBA title run in 1991 when his Bulls dispatched the Los Angeles Lakers in five games. The VI returned to its winning ways again in 2017 for this homage to Jordan’s alma mater and as we know, any time you can infuse UNC colors into an Air Jordan, it’s a win.

Two versions of the original “Raygun” Dunks released back in 2005, in home (black) and away (white) colorways. Nicknamed after a fictitious Nike-created ABA team known as the Roswell Rayguns, the sneaker gained a lot of traction thanks to some awesome commercials and its playful design. Fast forward 15 years and Nike brought back both colorways, but with a twist. This tie-dye version of the white “Raygun” Dunks dropped back at the top of 2020, featuring an orange, yellow and white tie-dye upper, offset by black leather around the toe box and Swoosh. This tie-dye version was created in honor of Sandy Bodecker, the former Nike executive who passed away in 2018, who is often credited for spearheading the success of Nike SB.

When the Air Max 95 was created by Sergio Lozano, it pushed the boundaries of contemporary sneaker design. We’re sure when he originally was sketching the design, he had no idea there would eventually be a version of his futuristic sneaker which paid homage to the Wild West and the old gunslingers who made it famous. Decked in a pattern of washed denim, red paisley patterns and tan suede, this couldn’t be any more of a departure from the original “Neon” Air Max 95s we highlighted last week. Nike was all about the “Wild West” pattern back in 2019, releasing both an Air Max 97 and 98 in addition to this version.

Now this is more like it. Originally released in 2008, this South Beach-inspired “Miami Vice” colorway of the iconic Air Max 95 silhouette was a perfect return to its bold and flashy roots. Dripping in the bold Jade Green and Light Lava hints which just scream “Miami” and the art deco buildings which inhabit the area, this colorway served as a precursor to all the great “South Beach” colorways Nike would eventually incorporate into LeBron’s line.

The Air Max 1, designed by Tinker Hatfield, was the start of something exciting and special. To commemorate the momentous release, Nike dropped this OG Red version for the 30th Anniversary back in 2017. Featuring all the hits that made this iconic shoe stand the test of time, the “Anniversary Red” Air Max 1 still sports the same white and grey upper with University Red Swoosh and accents. Nike dropped the initial release in March of 2017, but opted to bring it back again in October, and no one was complaining.

Penny Hardaway had a hell of a signature run with Nike in the mid-90s and it all started with the release of his Air Max Penny 1, which originally released in 1995. The OG “Orlando” colorway was a hit on and off the court, however, Nike wouldn’t give the sneaker a proper retro release until 2006, which can be found in this listing. The “Orlando” colorway features a black upper, but the shoe is known for its oversized Phylon midsole. Inside the midsole is a Blue jeweled Swoosh and Penny’s trademark “1Cent” logo can be found on the heel.

From one former Orlando Magic great to another. NBA big men aren’t really known for their successful signature sneakers, but Shaq had quite a run with Reebok in the early-’90s. His Reebok run birthed favorites like the trippy Shaqnosis model and the Shaq Attaq, which can be found in this listing in the original “Orlando” colorway. Sporting a leather and nubuck white and black upper with shiny blue accents, the Shaq Attaq also sported Reebok’s patented “Pump” technology on the tongue, to help adapt to the hooper’s needs.

Packer Shoes collaborated with Reebok back in 2013 on an actual Kobe Bryant-inspired colorway of the Reebok Question. Kobe famously wore Questions (among many other models) during his 2003 sneaker free agency and has always had a great relationship with fellow Class of ‘96 draft member Allen Iverson. Following his tragic death earlier this year, another Kobe-inspired Question hit the streets, this time in a collaboration with Shoe Palace. Nicknamed the “Yellow Toe,” these draw a clear and obvious inspiration from Kobe and the Lakers, sporting yellow around the toe box, on the heel and in the eyestays, along with purple accents throughout.

Inspired by the early Nintendo games (Star Fox, in particular) comes this 2013 collaboration between sneaker boutique Bodega, HYPRCAT and New Balance’s 577 model. The upper is composed of premium suede and nubuck, with hints of bright yellow, pink, purple and blue peppered throughout. They definitely have an early-90s vibe to them, and are topped off with a HYPRCAT logo on the tongue and insole.
