During Nike’s Tokyo stop of the “White Dunk” art exhibition in 2004, the host city released 200 pairs of this minimalistic SB Dunk in conjunction with the event. An estimated 10,000 raffle tickets were sold in an effort to avoid the potential chaos of a standard release. This blank canvas of a Dunk is missing any noticeable branding, save for the standard swoosh on the sides--the tongue and heel are bare. This is one of the most sought after shoes in existence and an undisputed grail, and pairs like this simply don’t go on sale.

In 1994, Nike re-released the classic Jordan I in what would be the beginning of the retro revolution. This move was a huge deal and this relic from that original retro release has stood the test of time. In excellent shape, this “Chicago” colorway still shines like new, despite being in storage for 25 years. 1985 OG Jordan Is are awesome collector’s items, but if you even want a shot (albeit a long one) of wearing an old Jordan I, opt for this 1994 retro. Similar scarcity, close in price, and usually in much better condition.

Originally released in Rick Owens’ Fall/Winter 2006 “Dustulator” collection, these absolute tanks were Owens’ attempt at an athletic shoe. These high-top Frankenstein monsters pulled inspiration from Nike, adidas and Puma, with an obvious swoosh-inspired design on the sides. Owens reportedly received a cease and desist letter from Nike, and while that’s still never been confirmed, the design was effectively killed. Controversy aside, this is an incredibly popular silhouette and remains one of the most sought-after sneakers from any brand on Grailed. There are only a handful available and despite the wear and tear on the sole, these are rare grails for sure.
