Designed by Cynthia Lu, Nike and Cactus Plant Flea Market, one of the hottest brands of the moment, released their collaborative Vapormax on Air Max Day 2019. This avant-garde take on the futuristic Vapormax instantly became one of the most sought-after shoes of the year, thanks in large part to its textured, one-of-a-kind look. Even the fact that it was released in women’s sizing didn’t hamper the hype. The design features a mesh upper and green cord swoosh, with a CPFM smiley face on the heel. Originally released on the SNKRS app and select NikeLab locations, this was nearly impossible to procure. There are very few available on Grailed despite the demand.

Originally released as a European exclusive, this wolf grey Air Max 97 designed by Virgil Abloh is a departure from his more deconstructed white 97s–which were included in “The Ten” collection–and his minimalistic black pair that would follow. The “Menta” is head to toe grey mesh and synthetic uppers, with a matching grey air bubble and a bright pop of multicolor swoosh. Included is Abloh’s signature zip tie, air quote shoelaces and Off-White branding by the heel. While the “Menta” eventually saw a stateside release, it remains a difficult find for sneakerheads and there aren’t many available on Grailed.

In 2006, Nike collaborated with Tokyo-based brand Atmos on an elephant print Air Max 1. Offset by black suede, a white toe box and a teal swoosh, this Air Max 1 became an instant smash. It was such a hit that Nike brought it back on Air Max Day 2017, answering the call of so many fans who had been clamoring for a re-release. The elephant print is an obvious callback to the Jordan III, the first shoe to feature the then-exotic print. The 2017 version featured in this listing stayed true to form, and this remains one of the most sought after Air Max 1s ever created.

In one of the most successful collaborations of 2018, Union Los Angeles delivered two home runs when they reconfigured the iconic Air Jordan I. For both colorways, they swapped out the leather uppers for contrasting color schemes from different Jordan I models, with stitching to show the DIY effect. Both colorways were released on Union’s website as well as other Nike stockists and sold out instantly, along with a whole slew of vintage-inspired Jordan apparel. This “Storm Blue” pair is one of the best sneaker releases of 2018 and remains an impossible cop for Jordan heads all over. This is a rare find on Grailed, so act fast.

Released exclusively via the Supreme webstore alongside an extensive apparel collection, Supreme and Comme des Garçons SHIRT linked up once again to provide a unique take on the iconic Air Force 1. Left mostly untouched in its perfect, pure white colorway, this collab features Comme des Garçons SHIRT branding on the side and an eyeball design on the back and heel that was prominently featured throughout the collection. Every time Supreme and Comme des Garçons get together it’s a hit, and this was one of their biggest.

Releasing originally at ComplexCon and then via SNKRS Stash in Chicago, these Carolina blue Off-White Air Force 1s were released in conjunction with Virgil Abloh’s exhibit on display at the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art. The MCA Air Force 1 features the bold blue leather upper and a metallic swoosh, topped off with the necessary Abloh branding and air quotes. The year before, Abloh created a similar drop with his black Air Force 1 releasing exclusively at the MoMA in New York. These beautiful blue kicks are a rare pair to get your hands on and there are only a handful available on Grailed.

Supreme and Nike changed the game when they dropped their original SB Dunk Low collaboration in 2002, kicking off a 17-year (and counting) creative partnership. A decade later, the two brands brought back the iconic silhouette in a red colorway for the 10-year anniversary of the original SB Dunk release. Still decked in the classic elephant print, with a red leather upper and black swoosh, the 2012 version remains a tough pickup. While the 2002 pair is arguably on the hypebeast Mount Rushmore of sneakers, the 2012 pair isn’t far behind in terms of scarcity and comes in at a much more friendly price point. Any time you can get your hands on a Supreme Dunk, you have to shoot your shot.

Designed by Ronnie Fieg, this animal print Pippen I is as luxurious as it gets. It’s inspired by the Chimera, who, in Greek mythology, was a fire-breathing female monster with a lion’s head, a goat's body and a serpent's tail (hence the array of patterns and designs). There are leopard, zebra, tiger and lion prints in a pony hair upper, meant to symbolize the different ways Scottie attacked on the court. Complete with a full-length Air unit and Kith branding, this was by far the most outlandish and rare release from Feig and Pippen’s sneaker collaborations.

Don C, the Chicago-based tastemaker and designer who came up alongside Kanye West and Virgil Abloh, has crafted some luxurious sportswear over the last few years. From his snakeskin snapbacks to remixed Mitchell & Ness NBA shorts, he’s found a way to set the bar for elevated sports apparel. His premium Jordan II collaborations, however, might be his best work to date. Ranging from “Arctic Orange” to his most popular “Beach” colorway, to this “Blue” listing here, he’s found a way to take a sometimes forgotten Jordan model and make it relevant again. From the premium leather construction to the suede accents, lace locks and dust bag, this design proved to be a big moment for the Jordan II. While each colorway is hard to find (especially in a complete set with all the accompanying accessories), this blue listing surfaces a little less frequently on Grailed.

Originally released in 2005, these rare SB Dunks paid homage to the eclectic hip-hop legends De La Soul. Released alongside a brown and green high-top pair, these featured a vinyl holographic upper with graphics from De La’s “3 Feet High and Rising” album cover in a clean yellow and white colorway. While Nike released two more De La-inspired pairs in 2015 during the 10th anniversary of the original release, this rare 2005 pair is the only time this specific design has been released. This sneaker is a must for any De La Soul fan or avid SB collector.
