Nike Condemns Anti-Asian Hate Crimes:

Nike may have highs and lows in its PR history, but as of late, it has never shied away from standing up for what’s right and leading the charge on hot-button issues while other companies sit back and watch. This past week it took a stand against the recent wave of Anti-Asian hate crimes that have been popping up throughout the country, most notably in New York City, where a man attacked an Asian woman on the street and shoved her to the ground, sending her to the hospital. With a loud and clear #StopAsianHate message condemning these horrific attacks of hate and racism. While that’s frankly the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what Nike can do to combat racism against Asians and Pacific Islanders in its global network, Nike continues to be a company that stands for something.

A Ma Maniére x Jordan III Collab on the Way:

A Ma Maniére, the luxury fashion boutique with locations in Houston, Atlanta and Washington D.C. has recently unveiled a sharp collaboration with Jordan Brand. Fresh off two Air Force 1 collabs back in 2019 for its “Hand Wash Only” collection, A Ma Maniére gives its take on the inimitable Jordan III, in a lush white and grey colorway, topped off with violet and cream accents. It’s an exciting new concept on the classic shoe and is scheduled to drop some time this year.

CLOT’s Air Max 1 “Kiss of Death” Returning:

Many rumors have circulated in recent months about the return of CLOT’s “Kiss of Death” Air Max 1, which originally released in 2006. Inspired by Chinese medicine, the “Kiss of Death” Air Max 1 is a really funky shoe with all kinds of great details. Yeezy 1020 Boot First Look:

It’s been a while since Kanye West has tackled a high-top boot design, but last week we saw in-depth photos of the Yeezy 1020 Boot, which draws inspiration from hiking boots and high-top basketball sneakers. The sample pair is an orange and tan colorway with a zip closure over the laces and a Continental rubber outsole. While there’s no clarity on whether a release is imminent, one can only assume that these could be hitting stores sometime in 2021.

76ers forward Tobias Harris was spotted with a new Kobe 6 PE. Like P.J. Tucker’s PE from a few weeks back, this one pays homage to the Kobe 7 “Christmas” colorway, which served as inspiration for the Nike Air Yeezy “Cheetah” sample colorway.

Montrezl Harrell broke out two different types of Reebok heat on the court last week, in the same game. He wore both the old school high-top Pumps as well as his new Monsta Pump PE, both in beautiful Laker purple and gold colorways. On his way into the locker room, he was effectively double-fisting Reebok Pumps, a sure sign of his support for the retro-future silhouette.

Let’s take a slight detour from the court and head to the pitch, and check out soccer superstar Kylian Mbappé strolling through the stadium in the new Kith x Nike Air Force 1. These were released in very limited quantities in conjunction with the opening of Kith’s new Paris location.

LeBron James Passes Michael Jordan on All-Time Scoring List (March 6, 2019):

Any time you can pass Michael Jordan on any list, it’s a huge deal, especially when that list is the All-Time NBA Scoring list. King James passed MJ on this date two years ago in a game against the Denver Nuggets, securing his spot at number four amongst the all-time great scorers. James wore Jordan III-inspired colorway of LeBron 16s, and a handwritten “Thank You MJ 23” on the midsole. He would eventually pass Kobe Bryant for third place on that list just 10 months later.

Unbothered: Matt Barnes vs. Kobe Bryant (March 7, 2010):

We all know Kobe was a maniacal competitor who wasn’t going to let anyone throw him off his game. That’s why this moment still resonates over a decade later, and it didn’t involve a dunk or game-winning shot. After a testy exchange a few minutes earlier, Matt Barnes was standing by the baseline throwing an inbounds pass. Frustrated, Barnes tried his hardest to throw Bryant off by faking a pass right for his face. Bryant didn’t even flinch. The entire moment, in which he did nothing, only added to his mystique. The moment won’t show up in the stat sheet, but it’s constantly being shown when discussing Bryant’s mental edge and competitive streak. At the time, he was wearing a modified version of the “Away” Kobe V that was rumored to be created on NikeID. It featured a matte finish and the 24 stitched on the heel.
