Supreme and Barbour Are This Week's New Collaboration

After its much-discussed, surprise COVID-19 relief Box Logo T-shirt drop, it's hard to imagine Supreme releasing anything that will match that collaboration's hype. Revealing a new partnership with Barbour, it's clear that Supreme isn't planning on resting on its laurels.
An icon of heritage British style and preppy communities, Barbour has been in business since 1894, innovating on its globally recognized waxed cotton jackets. What began with John Barbour as a way to supply sailors and laborers applying their trades in the U.K.'s notoriously rainy weather, has since become a full-on lifestyle brand inspired by everything from horse riding, to hunting and shooting to motorcycle culture.
While Barbour has a series of outerwear for different activities—the Bedale field jacket is perhaps the most well-known jacket that Barbour produces. While the Beaufort—another favorite—is influenced by hunting and shooting, the Bedale is directly influenced by horse riding, easily identifiable (in comparison to other Barbour outerwear) by its button-closure rear vents.
Supreme's collaboration Barbour jacket—done in black, orange and (most importantly) leopard print—is "inspired by" the Barbour Bedale jacket, featuring two upper chest zip pockets, two front pouch pockets and Barbour's "Stormfly" front button closure with ring pull zipper. Dropping alongside the waxed cotton field jacket is a waist bag, a crusher hat and camp cap—all composed of Barbour's signature waxed cotton.
Given that Barbour is a symbol of British fashion and culture globally, it's fitting that Supreme would choose the most high-profile British skater to model the collection: Blondey McCoy.
