Supreme Announces Ben Davis Collaboration
- Words Anteneh Gebre
- Date September 9, 2019
For the third collaboration of the season, Supreme has teamed up with American workwear brand Ben Davis for a capsule collection of durable goods.
The label Ben Davis was created in 1935 by its namesake and his father Simon, though the Davis’ ties to clothing dates back to the 1870’s when Ben Davis’ grandfather, Jacob Davis, supplied fabrics to Levi Strauss, thus having a hand in one of the most iconic labels in American history. Since its inception, Ben Davis has been known for quality, long-lasting work clothing such as the Original Ben’s Pant. Due to the inherent durability of its clothing, skateboarders embraced brands like Ben Davis and co-opted them as uniforms of their own.
The Supreme x Ben Davis collaboration includes chore coats, overalls, work shirts, work pants and beanies. Each piece includes the Ben Davis “Plenty Tough” gorilla label and Supreme embroidery. The beanies will be available in black, pink, navy, green, white and orange while the clothing will come in black/pink, navy/green and orange/hickory stripe colorways.
The Supreme x Ben Davis collection will be available this Thursday, September 12, at Supreme’s US, European and online stores. It will be released on September 14 in Japan. Be sure to check Grailed shortly after 11 am as items make their way to the Hype marketplace.
