Our Favorite Pieces From Supreme Fall/Winter 2019

After a few weeks of previews including everything from a collaboration with graffiti artist Delta to references to The Smiths, which may or may not be a jab at lead singer Morrissey, Supreme is back with a lookbook and full preview of its Fall/Winter 2019 collection.
Yesterday, Supreme released a teaser video of a snake charmer wearing a Box Logo T-shirt, an indirect allusion to the references to Indian culture that make an appearance in this season’s collection; this connection is most obvious in the Ganesh print appearing throughout the collection. Outside of the cultural references, the collection is what fans have come to expect from Supreme every Fall/Winter season. Gore-Tex outerwear, plenty of plaid and some interesting knits.
In recent years, Supreme has featured multiple iconic rap album art on its tees, such as GZA’s Liquid Swords and Geto Boys’ We Can’t Be Stopped. For Fall/Winter 2019, Supreme used the artwork from R&B legend Mary J. Blige’s debut album, What’s the 411?. While the reversible bandana fleece jacket taps into last Fall/Winter’s love affair with fleece, the most sought after item of the season will undoubtedly be the bandana Box Logo hoodie. While Box Logo hoodies are nothing short of an event whenever they drop, this particular paisley bandana pattern was last seen on a Box Logo back in 2001.
If battling for Box Logos isn’t your style, then there’s also a selection of “small box logo” items—served up in crewneck fleece sweatshirts. Supreme also flexed the global nature of its brand, listing the phone number of each of its physical storefronts on the back of the “New Shit” T-shirt, and featuring the complete contact information for Supreme’s Japanese head office in Shibuya on the “HQ” hoodie.
Of course, apparel aside, Supreme’s wide-ranging line of accessories is something that has separated the brand from its competitors for years. Eccentricity is always at the forefront of this section of the collection, so it feels bizarrely on-brand to see Supreme branded champagne flutes, hanging lanterns, Post-It flags, a Pyrex mixing cup and a ping pong set. Those items are tame when compared to leopard print Knoll Wassily chair, the BLU dual-SIM card Burner Phone or the Fox Racing collab-friendly Honda CRF 250R dirtbike.
