When there are this many heaters in one segment, it’s hard to pick a favorite. That said, we do have a few standouts. Regular Supreme collaborator Everlast lent a boxing robe (both in standard “box logo red” and leopard print) to the roster of accessories, while Nike (then-recently established as the new NBA equipment sponsor) added a basketball shooting sleeve to the collection. As a regular collaborator with Supreme, the fact that Nike now handles the official gear for the NBA means the three-way cross-branding opportunities (like Spring/Summer 2018’s NBA team logo-adorned Air Force 1 Mids) are sure to become a common sight. Of course, the most iconic accessory from Fall/Winter 2017—the Fender Stratocaster—stands apart as the our clear favorite, even if we can’t play a single chord.

While the Fall/Winter 2017 collection did feature a leather Nuptse jacket in Red and Yellow (with accessories to match), it’s clear that the Mountain collaboration—named for the giant mountain that adorns the front of each piece—was the bigger partnership with The North Face. While the subcollection featured a T-shirt, sweatshirt, an Expedition backpack, an insulated blanket and six-panel hat, it’s both the 700 down fill Baltoro jacket and lighter-weight parka that really established themselves as grails (appearing in numerous street style galleries far beyond the confines NYC's SoHo neighborhood).

While many a Fall/Winter collection features some iteration on Supreme’s signature item, this collection’s iteration was notable for its contrasting, juxtaposed box logos. While the classic red box adorned a lime green base sweater, the classic heather gray sweater hosted a golden yellow box logo. Whether it’s your first season buying Supreme, or your tenth, it’s a no brainer why this piece is a must-cop. For the full fit, get the hoodie with the matching New Era beanie.

In any given season, there’s always some iteration on a tracksuit or sweatsuit concept—generally utilizing some crazy color or pattern and leaving Supreme branding on the subliminal side. Fall/Winter 2017 saw the release of a patchwork sweatshirt with sweatpants to match. While this isn’t one for those who love broadcasting that they’re wearing a Supreme piece (unless, of course, you're already familiar with what dropped in this particular season), we can’t knock the references (whether intentional or not) to Piet Mondrian. Meet us wearing this one in the MoMA.

The North Face is a constant collaborator with Supreme—that’s obviously not a secret. But these non-collaboration fleeces show what Supreme can do when it’s inspired by, but not necessarily collaborating with, outerwear brands like The North Face (or perhaps in this case, Patagonia). Dropping in three colors—true leopard print, red leopard print and snow leopard print—the reversible fleeces are surprisingly flexible for a myriad of wardrobes, especially given their solid color interior linings (black, red and teal respectively). For a Fall/Winter release that’s surprisingly applicable for springtime wear as well, this is a must cop.

Supreme always manages to work in a celebrity or two in just about every collection they’ve released in the past few years. Be it Morrissey or Michael Jordan, Neil Young, or—as was the case in Fall/Winter 2017—Nas, the “photo tee” is as much a Supreme signature as the box logo itself. Each iteration isn’t always exactly like the last and, for the tee brandishing the portrait of the Queens MC, the standout feature is the “Nasty Nas” script written below the photo of Nas in his own box logo tee. These are always standouts within their season, and this tee featuring the classic NYC rapper is no exception. Don’t sleep.

Supreme’s brand is so intriguing in part because it can take references from across the cultural spectrum and apply them in unique ways that still feel exceedingly authentic. While it’s not uncommon for Supreme to tap into a gangster films and TV shows (shout out the iconic Sopranos box logo), this season’s take on the Brian De Palma classic Scarface included a hockey jersey, two hoodies, 4 tees, a sweater, a leather jacket and a beanie. However, the most visually recognizable pieces—a denim jacket and lamp featuring and modeled (respectively) after Tony Montana’s “The World Is Yours” (fitting, given Nas’ inclusion in the T-shirt lineup for Fall/Winter 2017) globe statue, pay homage to the film in an unconventional—but still interesting way. That said, if you’re a fan looking for a straight up logo flip of the movie’s black-and-white poster, you can rest assured that Supreme took care of that side of the collab as well.

A relatively obscure trail running shoe from the ‘90s, the Nike Air Humara seems like the perfect collaboration canvas for Supreme, who often taps unpopular or rarely-seen models to rework in its Nike collaborations (shout out to the Air Force 2). With a selection of eye-popping neon colors, these might not be the easiest sneakers to fold into every rotation, but the sheer volume of ‘90s-era chunky sneakers hitting store shelves have us feeling like these are destined for cult status in the near future. If the sneakers really aren’t your thing, the matching co-branded Nike trail-running tracksuits are definitely worth a second look (props if you end up securing the full head-to-toe fit in the same color).

If for nothing other than the controversial status these garments have, one of the season’s early artist collaborations featured prominently in early previews of the Fall/Winter 2017 collection. For those unfamiliar with the religiously-charged work of Andres Serrano, the all-over print itself seems akin to the fluids found within a lava lamp—fairly innocent. It’s only when you realize that you’re wearing a hoodie and sweatpants covered in blood and semen—literally—that the garment becomes a little bit harder to swallow. If you’ve got the balls (pun not intended) then we applaud those willing to wear this Fall/Winter 2017 signature piece.

Hinted at and teased for what felt like ages, Supreme finally launched its collaboration with the legendary manga Akira in the Fall/Winter 2017 season. Even though anime is gaining wider attention on the whole, Katsuhiro Otomo’s seminal work has always stood apart from others in the medium thanks to its incredible story, impressive animation and...well, that iconic motorcycle. While the collection featured plenty of items from across the spectrum—a work jacket, plenty of hoodies and tees, a pair of coveralls—it was the parka that stood apart from the rest. While the collaboration didn’t feature Kaneda’s iconic red bike, its heavy focus on scenes depicting drug usage and violence point to issues found within Akira’s dilapidated, almost post-apocalyptic vision of society. Considering that the collection features a “pill tray” and “syringe tray,” it seems that Supreme was looking to take the connections to illicit substances beyond just a few garment graphics.
