Rampant Influencer Fraud is Costing Brands More than $1 Billion Each Year
"Influencer fraud will cost advertisers more than $1 billion in 2019, a figure that could grow to $1.5 billion by 2020, according to a new report. In partnership with the University of Baltimore, Tel Aviv-based cybersecurity firm Cheq found that as influencer marketing spending by brands is expected to reach $8.5 billion in 2019, such “growing popularity [has brought about] greater opportunities for fraud,” and the results are significant."

Nike Discusses Sale of Surfwear Brand Hurley International
"As Reuters reported, Nike declined to comment on the amount it could fetch for Hurley. The sportswear giant purchased the brand from Bob Hurley in 2002 for an undisclosed amount of money as it sought to venture into the surfing, skating, and snowboarding industries further. Today, Nike is examining an outright sale of Hurley following an increasingly neglected surfwear market as the fashion industry shifts towards other household sportswear and streetwear names."

A$AP Rocky Has Been Officially Charged With Assault in Sweden
"A statement from the prosecutor on July 25 confirms the charges filed against the rapper and two other members of his team, due to “having come to the conclusion that the events in question constitute a crime and despite claims of self-defence and provocation,” as the Guardian reports. The prosecutor also says they have received a victim’s statement backed up by multiple witness statements that corroborate the incident."
