Helmut Lang is no stranger to finding inspiration in the most unlikely of places. From astronauts to the military, there is no limit to what he looked to for inspiration while designing his eponymous label. Introduced for his Autumn/Winter 1998-1999 collection, the "painter" jeans became an instant favorite. The vintage-treated Italian denim, straight-leg cut and paint splatters make each pair a true one-of-one. Don’t worry about the paint fading any time soon, as rubberized paint was used to ensure that the design stands the test of time.
