Seller Description
Leading up to the mid-2000s, Jun Takahashi had began to mature both as an individual and as a designer. Your typical cotton composition was replaced with technical fabrics that would change with the weather, and the overall design of the items produced by his label, Undercover, became more minimal, elegant and functional. Despite moving away from the “chaos” that engulfed the brand for the majority of the previous two decades, Undercover's AW07 collection still showed signs of Takahashi's roots. The men's black leather jacket featured removable sleeves, two long zip-closure breast pockets, and a moto-style throat closure to complete a symmetrical take on 70’s punk. Furthermore, each shoulder is adorned with two D-rings that are reminiscent of those that hung on Sid Vicious' belt courtesy of Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm Maclaren. This piece serves as a reminder of how the music that shaped an era has also drastically influenced the fashion industry forever.
