The Tokyo-based Blackmeans is inarguably one of the most innovative high-end punk labels around. With a D.I.Y. aesthetic, their influences come from every punk scene, from the original British movement, to the Japanese crust punks of the '90s, with every detail cranked up to 11. This take on a quilted double rider jacket is a perfect example of the brand's ability to take an iconic design and rework it without losing its original meaning. Keeping the original style's silhouette, the jacket is slightly cropped to allow for comfort when riding a motorcycle. Fashioned from heavy sheepskin and lined with quilted padding through the entire jacket, Blackmeans adds extended quilting on the shoulder and elbow panels, along with two adjustable cinch straps on either side of the waist. The design is taken to a new level with an additional "kidney" pocket at the center waist and a sleeve pocket on the left forearm. Finishing things off are Blackmeans' signature chunky brass zippers and snaps, and their own unique garment wash method for a weathered appearance and lived-in feel.
