Seller Description
Shinsuke Takizawa's Neighborhood first opened shop as a motorcycle, military and outdoor lifestyle brand in 1994 in the Harajuku district of Tokyo alongside contemporaries like Bape and Undercover, during the height of "Urahara kei," a subversive, American-influenced fashion movement named after the back alleys that birthed it. Decades later, Neighborhood is one of the few brands that has remained unerringly consistent and spawned dozens of imitators along the way. This nylon fishtail parka from the Fall/Winter 2002 collection brings together all of Neighborhood's influences in one garment. Based on the US Army issued M-51 fishtail parka cut with a drawcord-adjustable hood, waist and hem, this iteration features a poly-fill quilted lining that extends through the hood with an MA-1 influenced satin ripstop nylon outer and ribbed sleeve cuffs. The coat features zippered expansion panels and two patch cargo pockets on each sleeve, three larger zippered pockets along the back, two pockets on the waist and six angled zipper pockets along the chest that are surprisingly functional with ample room to store your daily carry.
