Seller Description
In 1979, Joy Division enlisted acclaimed artist Peter Saville to create the album artwork for their debut album, Unknown Pleasures. Much to his surprise, the band turned to a textbook page and pointed to a graphic that they absolutely loved. This image turned out to be a mysterious reading of a signal frequency from outer space. No one quite knew who or what had made it. To this day, decades after Unknown Pleasures was released, Seville's artwork for the band is as iconic as ever with fashion labels such as Number (N)ine, Undercover and Raf Simons repurposing it on everything from T-shirts and pants to leather jackets and parkas. Number (N)ine's particular iteration is nearly impossible to come by today given the fact that this T-shirt was released in the very early years of the brand.
